First donstruction of the front cover

Firstly the type of music that is involved in this is RnB, rap and rock based type of music.. We can tell this because of the person in the front cover plus the whole feel of the front cover, i also think this is mainly for teenagers.

The person in the middle is representing everyone that is involved with in the music and saying we're on the same level as you. We know this because the camera angles is a mid shot meaning that we can only see half of his body. Plus he is looking directly at the camera and is on the same level as it so when you look at the cover it's like he's looking at directly at you.

In this magazine they're thinking about some types of Ideological ideas as it is like the bigger that person or band is the bigger text front size get, meaning they're above everyone else that is a smaller text side. For example we see the name "DRAKE" in big writting whereas people like "CHRIS BROWN" and "SERENA" are in more of a middle sides text.

The word "UNSTOPPABLE" denotes that the person is infact unstoppable plus he's looking staight at you meaing you as the reader is "UNSTOPPABLE" if you buy this music magazine. As we can see the title "VIBE" is massive and takes up over a fourth of the page, this connotes that this magazine is bigger then everything on it and it's the next best thing out there. Its saying that its one of thoses brands where you're just paying for the brands for example if there was another magazine which was the same and it was alot cheaper the audience would rather pay more just for the "brand name".

The uses of the white and yellow texts makes the cover stand out more and just using two colours help it to be alot more easier to read then some other magazine therefore it is very eye catching in my opinion. This magazine also has a black background which is simple plus it makes the writting stand out even more which helps alot, it gives it more of a distinctive look and easy to look out for if you want the next issue. At the top of the magazine there's words on top of the heading which gives it a "cool" look and this dennotes that the magazine is cool and if you're seen reading it you most also be cool.

My New Task

I have a new task now which is to complete the following: Make a music magazine cover, contents, double side page, to make a questionaire and to have reasearch on all of these. I will be doing this with in the next few weeks.

Firstly i will look at many different types of music magazines then i will deconstruct two of them. To try to get ideas and what looks good and bad. I also need to do this to make sure my magazine stands out from the rest.

Then i will look at the double side pages and then choose two to deconstruct, i will get theses images from google.

After that i will look at different ways to look at contents pages, then i will choose two to deconstruct.

After i have deconstructed all of these things i will create the following: Questioniare on music magazines for other to complete, create my own front cover, my own contents and my own double side page.

Deconstructions

This is another sixth form magazine that i am deconstructing, i am doing this to help me with my front cover of my 6th form magazine and what i should and shouldn't inclue in my magazine.

Firstly we can see the title which is 6th sense, this is done in big, black bold text. In the background there's a person with a microphone that is also black with bright colours shooting out of it. I personally think is looks very effective as it makes the title stand out even more plus it's eye catching which can sell the magazine on it's own. The title is in the normal place where you can see it because if it wasn't there the readers would be confued and probably not interested in the magazine.

On this front cover there isn't a standing out headline, On my front cover i will want to have a main headline for my front cover however it does make the picture stand out well which works well.

The masthead of this cover is at the top of the page which shows the logo, date and what issue number it is. These are important things to have with in any type of magazine therefore i will be incluing the logo and date into my magazine.

The left third side of the front cover has alot of text and information on this cover, we can see three different types of text here which is good because it shows what we can expect in this magazine. They use the colours, red, blue and yellow. I feel this isn't always a good idea becuase it can affect the background image and colour however they have made it look good because the background colour is white but this can somtimes be bad because the readers eyes uaslly go to colour and white isn't a big bright colour but i do feel they have used it well here.

The central image is a person who goes to the college or school, looking happy and proud to be at this school which gives us the impression that everyone at the school is happy and doing well there. It also helps that the person in this image is looking at the camra which makes it look like he's looking right at you when you pick up the magaine.

Lastly on the bottem right hand side of the cover you can see the buy code. This is where you can mostly see the bar code if theres one on the front cover because this is what they call the thum stop. They say this because you turn the page there so it isn't that imporant for the reader.

This is a sixth form magazine i found on google. My task is to deconstruct two sixth form magazine and this is the first one i am doing.

Firstly the title shows us that it's about the sixth form, the audience of this would be all the people that alreadly go to sixth form. We can tell this because it says "The Sixth Form Magazine For You!" This suggests that there many aleady be other sixth form magazines at this college and this one wants to be the best.

The headline of this front cover is  "A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS" This tells us that it is another start to a term or a year for the students and this may also suggest that we need to read this to see how this term or year is going to plan out.

The masthead is at the very top of this front cover as here we can see the logo of the school and what school it actually is.  The logo is in the top left hand side of the page which is where you always find the logo of a front cover. This is because the people that design this wants people to straight away know who's magazine this is plus this is for the usall readers, they can know just by looking at the top of the front cover can relies it's there magazine. The background of this banner is red with white texts which helps the reader actually read it for example if the designers used yellow and orange the colours may have blinded you a little making you not wanting to read it.

In the left third of the cover we see two headliners with abit of information under it. Firstly they use headlines to attract the audience then after that they feed them with abit of information that will draw them into keep turning over to the next page.

At the bottem of the page we can also see what esle we can expect to see in this magazine. Which i personally think this is a good idea because it can draw the reader in and make the magazine stand out that little bit more. The banner of this is a red background with white bold words showing whats going to be in the magazine. They use the colours red at white because the red hepls the white stand out to the aduience.

The central image is in the middle of the cover and takes up most of the page. Just like a normal magazine. From this you can see the teachure talking and helping the students which inicates that the teachures at this college are good helping people plus it also shows us that the students here are willing to learn.

Lastly towards the bottem right of the page we can see the bar code which shows you need to pay for this magazine however you don't see how much the cover is but you do see at the top right hand corner you do see the issue of the magazine which can be useful.

This is my front cover again but this time i have changed the spelling mistakes which was the following: Impove - Improve and Achive - Acheive.

This is my contents page for my 6th form magazine. As you can see it has a picture in the background of a student, the pages go up to 1-14 and on each double page you can see what it happening on that page.

So today i have finished my front cover of the school magaizine.

Media Work

This is a poster which has a new born bady drinking a bottle of Methylated spirits. The headings says "There are no silverf spoons for the children born into poverty". This is to get people to know about the problems that are happening, awearness is the first step to solving these types of proplems. Most people do not like looking at horrific pictures, this is why they have done it so it catches peoples eyes therefore they look at it and read it. This poster is also done by Barnardo's as you can tell from the bottem. This poster does get it's point across because it is very affective in catching peoples eyes so they read it, this is because of the picture is big and in your face plus the titles are big and easy to read. However this poster could have improved by having a charity site or phone number where you can donate to this type of thing.

I have preliminary task which is to create a front cover for a new school mag, I have a main task to do which is to ceate a music mag.
